The definitive birding experience – Join us in the ultimate birding adventure and witness the Barnacle, Pale Bellied Brent and Greenland Whitefront as they make their remarkable way across the North Atlantic – up to 5000Km to winter on Islay. Live the thrill of being here to this see this extraordinary event – their migration is timeless, the return of tens of thousands of geese to this, their Scottish wintering grounds.
We offer you Britain’s only five star wildlife experience, a house party with full board, transfers on Islay and all guiding/teaching too. We will even find time to visit a distillery and taste the culture. You will get a chance to see them at dawn and at dusk returning to their night roosts as well as watching them in the fields – who knows we may even ‘get’ a rarity such as a Snow goose! Of course Islay is one of the best places to bird in Europe and as well as Geese we have Chough, Snow buntings, masses of waders and spectacular raptors – such as Hen Harriers, Peregrine, Golden Eagle and Merlin too.
We will meet you at the port – from the ferry or airplane and get you to your accommodation – a delightful house in Port Charlotte where it will home from home, real local food, great service and a warm peat fire. Three days birding two nights accommodation. All you need to pay for is postcards and the odd dram!
